11 Mar Recycling and earning money through Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme at R4C
Recycling provides a sustainable solution to manage our waste while creating a positive impact. In Victoria, more than 3 billion drink containers are consumed each year, but unfortunately, most of them end up in landfills. This is where Recycle4Change and Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) comes in.
What is Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme?
The Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) is a recycling program that allows you to earn money for returning eligible drink containers like cans and bottles.
Using a Recycle4Change depot in Melbourne or Geelong makes it easy to turn in your cans for cash earning 10c per eligible container you return.
What you can return at Recycle4Change depots
Drinking containers made of aluminum, glass, plastic, or milk cartons that hold between 150mL and 3 litres are eligible for recycling. And don’t forget to keep the lids as we recycle them too!
Some containers have a 10c mark near their barcode, making it easier for you to identify which ones are accepted.
