Our Tips for Transporting your Recyclables for Cash

Recycling your bottles and cans for cash at Recycle4Change is easy. However, if you haven’t used our great depot before you might be unsure of the best way to transport your recyclables to us. It’s important to us that everyone can access and enjoy our facilities, so we have some handy tips to help you to prepare for your visit to Recycle4Change.

How do I prepare my bottles and cans to recycle for cash?

If you’ve collected bottles and cans to recycle for cash at a Recycle4Change depot, you may be curious if there is anything you need to do before visiting us. There are a few steps you can take to ensure that your recycling trip is as quick and easy as possible.

Check your items are accepted by Recycle4Change

At Recycle4Change, we accept a variety of recyclables such as aluminium cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles, paperboard cartons and steel cans. We do not accept wine or spirit bottles, milk containers or cordial bottles. Ensuring that your collection is free from these items will help to make your experience at Recycle4Change simple.

Rinse your recyclables if needed

If your bottles or cans have food or drink residue, it’s a good idea to rinse them so they’re ready to be recycled.

How do I transport my recyclables to a recycling center?

You don’t need a ute or trailer to transport your bottles and cans to Recycle4Change (unless you have quite an impressive collection requiring it)! There are a few ways to make sure transporting your bottles and cans to our depot is a clean and easy process.

Utilise reusable bags or boxes

Consider using reusable bags (such as those from the supermarket) or spare cardboard boxes to move your bottles and cans. This will help to ensure that your items aren’t rolling around in your car and can also help to prevent potential spillage if any of the recyclables are damp. Thanks to Recycle4Change’s convenient machinery, you don’t need to worry about sorting your bottles and cans into categories.

Secure loose items

If you have many recyclables, it may be a good idea to secure them for the trip to our depot. Bungee cords or cargo nets are useful for keeping items in place to prevent them from moving around while in transit.

We hope our tips have helped you to prepare for your visit to Recycle4Change.
